App News DOSBox for Windows Phone 8.1/10 is there (self.windowsphone) submitted 2 years ago by SolmyrUA Lumia 525 > 950 > S7 Edge It has some bugs and things for improvement but it's real workable dos emulator. Windows is the the shorthand name usually referring to Windows 3.11 (or Windows for Workgroups 3.11).It is a graphical shell as well as a thin Operating Environment (not quite an operating system, but close) for applications to share information and interact with certain hardware (like Sound Cards, Printers, Networking (in later versions), Mice etc).
I have tried numerous combinations of settings within the dosbox.conf (fullresolution, aspect ratio, etc) and the Wine configuration (virtual desktop, window manager, etc) to no avail. If I set the Dosbox fullresolution to 640x480, which is how I have it in my Windows 10 setup, Wine crashes outright with a serious error. If I set it to 1024x768, it works fine until I go into Windows 3.1 (within Dosbox), and then the picture becomes a strict 640x480 image (i.e., centered and tiny).
At this point, I've resigned myself to setting my desktop resolution to 960x540 and running Wine Dosbox in a 640x480 window. It's not terrible, but it's less than ideal. What else could I try to get fullscreen to work? Thanks.
